P.S.L. - Week 126 - The Great Commission

This is a repost from January 2023. This is something that the church of today need to get back to. The church has lost its focus on the Commission to politics, money, and the satisfaction of self. We need to get back to the basics of Jesus and Him crucified, raised from the dead and coming back. Enjoy!

As believers, we probably have all read about the Great Commission. This is what Jesus told His disciples after His resurrection and before His ascension into heaven. The Great Commision is found in Matthew 28:19, 20. It reads, "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, end of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen" (KJV). This Commission is what we are supposed to be doing.

The question is, are we doing it? Are we teaching people about Jesus? Are we teaching them to observe the Word of God? Or are we banging the Bible over their heads and trying to force people to live like we do? I may get in trouble but I am going to say it anyway. As believers, we can't force people to live holy or believe like we do. We can't make laws for people to live righteously. We may not like the way a person lives, but we are to show them the love of Christ. Jesus has given all of us choices whether to do right and follow Him or not. Since He gives us a choice, we can't take "choice" away from others. Their "choice" may be wrong, and against the Word of God, but it's their choice. One day, they and us will have to answer to God for the "choices" we have made whether for good or bad.

As believers, our role in the world is to tell others about Jesus. We can't force them to believe, they have to believe on their own. It's only when a person has a renewed heart and mind can they make the godly choice - no matter the choice. We need to exhibit the love of Christ and speak the Word of God to others. Once they receive the Word, then we can encourage them to follow the Word of God. It's only when a person has a renewed heart can they live a righteous life. In conclusion, we can't legislate righteousness. Righteousness only comes with a renewed heart and mind. Let us remember that as this world is getting further away from Truth. Have a blessed week!
