We have came through 2022 and now we are entering 2023. Every new year, we feel like we can start over. We begin to make "resolutions" or think of things we can improve on. We state we're going to take better care of our bodies, we're going to spend more time with the Lord or we're going to save money to get out of debt. Of course all of these goals are good. As we all know, we begin to do them then by the middle of the month, these goals fall by the wayside.
God also desires a new beginning for us. In Isaiah 43:19, it reads: "Behold, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs forth; do you not perceive and know it and will you not give heed to it? I will even make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert" (AMPC). God wants and is doing a new thing in this earth and in us. We have to be open to hearing or perceiving what He wants to do. In order to do that, we must spend time with Him in order to hear His voice. The more time we spend with Him, we can be more sensitive to His leading. When we're led by Him, there's no way we will fall by the wayside. Of course we may stumble, but as long as we get back on track with Him, we will succeed.
So, have you made any New Year's resolutions? Prayerfully the one that's on top of the list is spending more time with the Lord so that you can perceive the "new thing" He wants to do for and in you. I know that's on my list! I'm looking forward to what God is going to do in my life. Have a blessed week!
